There is no gain saying that the ongoing online application to fill in various vacant positions in the Federal Road Safety Commission is marred by technical hitches ranging from inability to receive confirmation email to uploading of passport photograph.

It is worthy to note that this issue is not only akin to the current Federal Road Safety Commission recruitment. You would agree with me that previous federal and/or state recruitment via online portal have been faced with one issue or the other, especially in the early stages of the application process. The obvious reason is high traffic to the sites by teaming unemployed / underemployed youths jostling to secure a better paying federal/state government jobs.

 

However, the recommendation(s) provided hereunder is meant to proffer the much needed solution to some persons who may encounter problems in their course of trying to apply for the available vacancies.

i.             Using ‘paint’ software, or any online image resizing tool, resize your passport photograph to 400 x 400 pixel. (This will give you the required picture size of not less than 20kb and not more than 50kb). (As shown in the screenshot above).

ii.            Ensure that the passport is saved as ‘JPEG’.

iii.          Use an up-to-date web browser (preferably, updated version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome)

iv.           If the portal keeps displaying the ‘error connecting to server’ message as shown in the screenshot above. Try again, and again.

v.            If the problem persist, logout and try completing the application at mid-night, when the server is a little bit decongested.

vi.           Above all, try to relax as the job will not be given on ‘first come, first serve basis’. Allow sometime for the ICT team to correct all types of errors in the server. This will lead to a smooth application process.
